Koryo Hand Therapy

Hand Treatment is a form of acupressure that affects the entire body by
treating the hands. Every part of the body has a correspondence point
on the hand. Disease, pain and tension are reflected in the hands as
“tender points.” Any part of the body can be treated right on the hands
all of the acupoints and meridians (vital life force channels) are a microcosm in the hand.
In this micro system of treatment we can treat "ah-shi" sensitive or painful points, with acupressure (specific
finger pressure), moxa or pellets to activate wellness. It is an
effective method of treatment for internal and external conditions. [size=16]By
stimulating specific points on the hands, we work to resolve pain,
balance organ function and stimulate blood and chi through out the body.
HISTORY
The
K.H.T. reflex map of the hand was discovered in 1971 by Dr. Tae-Woo
Yoo, O.M.D., Ph.D. in Korea. Dr. Yoo and others have clinically and
experimentally tested the system for accuracy. Similar hand treatments
have been used in the ancient healing arts for hundreds of years. These Vital life source channels are all through the body and miniaturized in the hands.

The K.H.T. system accesses the entire acupuncture system of the whole body in miniature on the hands. This means that you can add the ancient time tested healing power of acupuncture principles to the K.H.T. hand
reflexology system. The bones and organs of the body that can not be
reached locally can be treated on the hand. The method can be taught
for home use at this level.

Koryo
Hand Therapy is a system of treatment where all the
acupuncture/acupressure points on the body have been mapped out on the
hands. We use the hands as a micro-system of treatment using a
combination of methods . The treatment is grounded in the classical
theories of Chinese Medicine.
At
the basic level one can be taught self treatment with the corresponding
point treatment. More advanced treatments can by given by the
therapist who will diagnose and treat using the five element system, a
more complex level of treatment. The advanced levels of treatment use a
comparative carotid-radial pulse diagnosis and abdominal palpation
to pinpoint the organs and meridians to treat.
This system
of treatment is used in multiple ways. I add hand points to a full
body treatment of acupressure, meditation or energy therapy. It can be
a primary treatment for all conditions using both basic and advanced
levels. I teach clients to use the basic correspondence system to treat
themselves daily on prescribed points for body pain, headache, strain,
viral invasion and organ dis-function.
Koryo

convenient to practice once instructed by the therapist. Because the
points are located on the hand, the client does not have to disrobe.
This also means it can be done any where. Many times there are people
who are in too much pain to move, touch, manipulate or needle in
certain areas. Using the micro-meridian system, these sensitive areas
can be treated on the hands.
Clients
can sit down or stand up, while being treated, which provides
accessibility for treatment of people who are immobile. The hand
points are easy to locate and use. Conditions can be self treated at
home or in clinic with finger pressure, stimulation pellets, moxa or
tiny self issued needles (easy & no pain) all on the
hand. Effective self treatment can be taught by a trained practitioner
to treat difficult areas as well as common complaints. A prescription
